Traffic Advisory Continues at Second Street and Touline Street Intersection

NATCHITOCHES, La. (Oct. 2, 2026) — Motorists are being advised to avoid the intersection of Second Street and Touline Street as the City of Natchitoches continues work associated with the ongoing roadway improvement project.

City officials said new concrete has been poured on both the east and west sides of the intersection. The area remains closed while compressive strength testing is conducted to ensure the pavement is ready for traffic.

According to the city, the intersection is expected to reopen no later than the middle of next week, between Oct. 5 and Oct. 9. Once reopened, the entirety of Second Street from Church Street to Touline Street will once again be accessible to motorists.

Today and Saturday, the east side of the intersection will be used as a staging area for vehicles participating in the 20th Annual Natchitoches Classic Car Show. No other traffic will be permitted on the newly poured pavement.
